The Super Falcons of Nigeria secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Senegal on Monday, completing a back-to-back triumph in their two-legged international friendly ahead of the 2026 Wafcon. The result followed a 2-1 win in the first meeting.

The opening half ended goalless as both sides struggled to find the breakthrough, heading into the interval with everything still to play for. Nigeria came closest through Joy Omewa, who struck the woodwork after a brilliant assist from Rasheedat Ajibade, her effort crashing against the right post.

Despite several promising attacks, the Super Falcons were repeatedly denied by an organised and resilient Senegal defence, while the Teranga Lionesses gradually grew into the contest and threatened on transitions, ensuring a balanced and competitive first period.

After the restart, Nigeria took control of the game with greater urgency, and Joy Omewa broke the deadlock in the 48th minute, heading home expertly from a fine cross delivered by Shukurat Oladipo.

The striker doubled her tally in the 56th minute, finishing clinically to put the Super Falcons firmly in command.

Senegal struggled to respond as Nigeria’s intensity increased, and the visitors’ defensive structure began to open up under sustained pressure.

Rasheedat Ajibade continued to orchestrate attacks providing creativity in the final third.

Nigeria then made several changes to manage the tempo, with Asisat Oshoala introduced for Joy Omewa, and Esther Ijamilusi replacing Francisca Ordega.

The Super Falcons sealed the victory in the 66th minute when Oshoala calmly finished from a well-worked assist by Ajibade.

The 3-0 result confirmed a dominant display and back-to-back wins over Senegal across the two-legged friendly series.
