Manchester United reportedly sent their scouts to watch Francesco Pio Esposito in action during Italy’s 1-0 win over Greece on Sunday.
Premier League giants Manchester United sent scouts to watch Italy and Inter talent Pio Esposito during an international friendly between the Azzurri and Greece on Sunday, according to TEAMTalk.
According to the report, the Red Devils are not the only interested English club in Esposito, as Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea have also monitored his progress over the last year.
Pio Esposito scored two consecutive goals for Italy in their last friendlies against Luxembourg and Greece, contributing to back-to-back 1-0 victories.
A product of the Inter academy, Esposito has just completed his first season with the Nerazzurri’s first team, scoring ten goals and delivering six assists across all competitions.
Inter President Beppe Marotta already addressed speculation over Pio Esposito’s future this past March, when the 20-year-old was linked with a move to Arsenal.
“Inter are not a selling club; we don’t make player trading our main activity. Pio Esposito is a product of our youth academy, and we treasure him,” Marotta said.
“Of course, anything can happen in future, but that would only be very far into the future.”
