Egyptian giants Al Ahly have reportedly made a final decision on head coach Jess Thorup after the team failed to qualify for next season's CAF Champions League.
The Red Devils' disappointing 2025/26 campaign ended on Wednesday when they finished third in the Egyptian Premier League despite claiming a win on the final day of the campaign.

The 13-time African champions will now miss out on the Champions League for the first time since 2003 and will compete in the Confederation Cup next season.
However, WinWin have reported that Al Ahly have already made the decision to part ways with Thorup.
The report claims that Thorup has already submitted plans for next season, although the club are not planning to continue their relationship with the Danish tactician.
Thorup, meanwhile, stated after Wednesday's clash that he is confident he will still be in charge next season.
"When I came to Al-Ahly, I believed in winning championships, and we started well by winning the Super Cup," the coach said, as per Ysscores.
"However, the transfer period was not as expected, and a club of Al-Ahly's stature should make everyone feel disappointed when there is a failure."
"My contract with Al Ahly still extends for two more seasons, and I have already sent my comprehensive plan for the preparation and readiness period for the new season to the club's management."
