Colombian striker Brayan Leon’s introduction to the Betway Premiership has pushed him to levels rare in domestic football for a fresh entry.

Leon made a grand entrance into the domestic league with four goals in three games, giving him the best scoring rate in the league as of the end of February.

His first four goals came within 215 minutes, placing him at a goal every 53,5 minutes.

Since then, he has moved to close his season on double figures with 10 goals in 15 appearances.

Leon hammered 10 goals in 15 appearances, having played 815 minutes.

This gives him a prime return of a goal with every 81 minutes that he has played in the league since arriving in January.

Those are numbers that have not been matched by any striker making his arrival in the league halfway through a season.

Leon’s goal has put him amongst only four players on double numbers to date and with the best scoring average.

His teammate – Iqraam Rayners – has ended his league campaign with 12 goals in 26 appearances in the league.

He played 1440 minutes, which meant a goal every 120 minutes playing up top or occasionally on the wing.

The league’s leading scorer – Junior Dion – has scored 13 in 25 games with the weight of 1880 minutes.

While he has a goal with every second game that he plays, he is on an average of 145 minutes per goal.

The Ivorian is in his first season at Golden Arrows.

Relebohile Mofokeng has scored 10 in 25 appearances (1960 minutes).

It gives him an average of a goal with every 196 minutes that he plays.

Worth noting for Mofokeng is that he doesn’t play as a number nine but in attacking areas on either shoulder of the centre-forward.

His eight assists push his goal contributions up to 18, providing an important aspect to his game.
