AS FAR Coach Makes Promise Ahead Of Sundowns Clash

AS FAR Rabat coach Alexander Santos has made a promise to the supporters ahead of their CAF Champions League first leg against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Moroccan outfit will compete in their first Champions League final, with the first leg taking place at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday afternoon.

AS FAR's only previous visit to the capital ended in a 1-1 draw against the Brazilians during the 2024/25 group stage phase.

Santos is well are of the threat posed by Sundowns, but has promised the fans a good fight in Sunday's clash.

“Preparations are going well in a positive atmosphere and with great focus from all components of the team. The players realize the value of this historic match, and we are working daily on tactical, physical and technical preparation, so that we are in the best possible condition and represent the Royal Army and Morocco in the best possible way," Santos told the CAF website.

"Sundowns are a strong team collectively, characterized by quick ball possession, high tactical organization, in addition to their great experience in African competitions, but we also have strengths and the character of a great team, and we will enter the match in order to achieve a positive result.”

“I say to our loyal fans, thank you for your continued support in all circumstances. You are our true source of strength, and we promise you that we will fight with all spirit and responsibility to make you happy and to honor the Royal Army jersey."
