Campbell's banger earns Goal of the Season nod in Europe

South African star Shandre Campbell has been recognised for his performances in Belgium after one of his goals has been nominated for Pro League Goal of the Season honours. Check it out!

Campbell has been in impressive form for both Club Brugge and their development side Club NXT, where he has continued to showcase his attacking qualities abroad since his move in 2024.

His rise in Belgium has not gone unnoticed, with South Africans, as well as his coaches and teammates, praising his consistency and maturity despite being just 20 years old.

Campbell produced a stunning long-range strike against K Beerschot VA during the 2025/26 Challenger Pro League season, a moment of brilliance that quickly went viral.

The goal has placed him amongst the league's standout performers this season, with the strike now officially nominated for Goal of the Season honours.

Moreover, Campbell's performances have also put him in contention for a possible call-up to the Bafana Bafana ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With Hugo Broos set to announce the next Bafana squad soon, Campbell will be hoping his form earns him a place in the setup as South Africa prepares for a major international challenge ahead.
