Man United manager Michael Carrick has disclosed that Casemiro won’t be part of the team that will face Brighton in the final game of the Premier League season.
The 34-year-old swapped Real Madrid for Old Trafford in 2022 for a fee rising to £70 million, signing a four-year deal with an option for a further season.
United announced in January that Casemiro would leave the club when that contract expired, and he has enjoyed a successful final few months, playing a key role in their rise to third in the Premier League.

In a chat with the club’s website, Carrick stated that Casemiro has played his last game for the club.
“Case, I kind of decided last week would be his last game. That went well as we could have hoped,” Carrick said. “He’s been fantastic. I’ve said a lot about Case, it was decided it could be a good time for him to finish.
“This club is about bringing young players through, getting the balance right going into games like this, it’s depending on how the game goes to make the most of that. We’ve got some really good young players to take the next step.”
