Coventry City have confirmed the permanent signing of Frank Onyeka following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
The Nigerian midfielder initially joined the Sky Blues on loan from Brentford in January, with Coventry activating the option to make the move permanent after securing top-flight promotion.
Frank Lampard’s side will reportedly pay €8 million to complete the transfer.
“Coventry City also have the opportunity to acquire Frank Onyeka’s registration on a permanent basis upon the expiry of the Loan Agreement which will be with effect from July 1st 2026,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
The former FC Midtylland star played an influential role in Coventry’s successful promotion campaign, registering one goal and one assist in 14 Championship appearances.
The 28-year-old has also been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for April.
