The Egypt national under-17 football team opened its campaign at the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations with a scoreless draw against Ethiopia national under-17 football team on Wednesday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.
The Group A encounter was marked by cautious tactical play from both sides, with neither team able to create clear scoring opportunities throughout the match.
Egypt and Ethiopia each earned one point in the opening round of a group that also includes Morocco national under-17 football team and Tunisia national under-17 football team.
In another match played later Wednesday in Group B, Ivory Coast national under-17 football team secured its first victory of the tournament with a 2-0 win over Cameroon national under-17 football team.
The result boosted Ivory Coast’s position in the standings as the continental youth competition continued in Morocco.
