Most Milan ultras left the Curva Sud empty during the second half of the Rossoneri’s 3-2 loss to Atalanta, but those who stayed chanted for Paolo Maldini, and protests continued outside the stadium after the match.

Milan’s 3-2 loss to Atalanta, their third in the last five league matches, leaves the Rossoneri fourth in the standings, level on 67 points with Roma, with just two games remaining.

There was tension even before kick-off when Milan ultras in Curva Sud urged Giorgio Furlani to leave the club following another disappointing campaign.

The players, however, quickly came under the fans’ criticism during the match as the Rossoneri went 3-0 down in the opening 53 minutes. Those subbed off were loudly booed as they headed towards the bench, and the same happened at full-time.

Many ultras and ordinary fans left San Siro with Atalanta leading 3-0, leaving the Curva Sud practically empty.

As reported by Milannews, those who decided to stay made chants for Maldini, the club legend who was sacked by the Rossoneri in the summer of 2023, the year after contributing to their 19th Scudetto.

Protests continued outside the Stadio Meazza after the match, when several ultras remained outside the garages’ gates to voice their discontent towards the club and the players, as you can see in the video below.

There were more chants against Furlani, as well as protests against the players who were not politely urged to demonstrate some attributes.
