Federico Gatti has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs after falling out of favour under Luciano Spalletti at Juventus, with Everton, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Fulham all understood to be monitoring the Italy international.
According to Tuttosport, Juventus are willing to sell Gatti for around €25 million this summer, a figure that would help fund their defensive rebuilding plans.
The Italian has found himself on the periphery of Spalletti’s project and is open to exploring options in England should a suitable offer arrive.
Crucially for Juventus, selling Gatti would not affect their UEFA Champions League squad registration. Despite being Italian, Gatti does not satisfy UEFA’s homegrown criteria, which requires players to have spent 36 months at a professional club between the ages of 15 and 21, meaning his departure would free up funds without reducing the club’s available list spots.
Juventus face a complex summer in terms of squad construction. UEFA rules require clubs to include at least eight locally-trained players in their 25-man Champions League squads, and with several Italian players potentially leaving, including both goalkeepers Perin and Di Gregorio, the Bianconeri must carefully balance departures with arrivals that satisfy the relevant criteria.
Gatti’s sale, combined with the Muharemovic sell-on fee if the Bosnian joins Inter, would help generate the funds needed to pursue targets such as Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini or Brentford’s Michael Kayode.
