This will provide El Tri with an opportunity to test themselves against African opposition before they take on Bafana Bafana in their opening game of the international tournament.

Speaking ahead of the friendly, Ghana assistant coach Desmond Ofei revealed that the squad will be made up of a blend of standout performers from the Ghana Premier League, mixed with starlets from the U23 level.

This will provide these players with the opportunity to prove themselves and make an impression on the newly appointed head coach, Queiroz.

“For the upcoming game against Mexico, we have selected a very talented and ambitious group of players from our local league, alongside some exciting U23 talents and players who are highly motivated to show their qualities to the nation and to our new head coach, Mr. Carlos Queiroz,” Ofei said, per Africa Top Sports.
