Finance Expert: West Ham favourite could be sold for £35m amid 'surprising' transfer links

West Ham United could still make upwards of £30million on Jarrod Bowen even if the Hammers fail to avoid relegation this season.

That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that clubs are unlikely to offer more for the 29-year-old due to his age this summer.

The talented winger, who has notched 10 goals and 11 assists across all competitions, is attracting interest from multiple Premier League sides, including West London outfit Chelsea.

Xabi Alonso is set to take charge of the Blues ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, and Chelsea could pounce of West Ham’s potential relegation by agreeing a cheaper deal for their captain.

Despite not hitting the back of the net in any of the Hammers’ last nine games, he remains one of the most important players at the London Stadium.

If Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are relegated to the Championship, there is serious concern that he could finally seek an exit.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson discussed Bowen’s potential transfer value ahead of the summer, with several clubs circling for his signature in case of relegation.

“Well, as ever, it’s supply and demand. His agent has got out there very quickly in terms of putting those pieces in the press, presumably, about all these teams being interested,” Borson said.

“It’s quite surprising that some of these teams would be interested, given Bowen’s age. You’d think Bowen wouldn’t want to move from London if he could help it. What’s he worth?

“Maybe £35m, only because of his age, really. He’s a very good player, but age-wise, people are quite reluctant these days to pay anything significant for players of a certain age. I would think somebody will pay £30m-£35m for him.”

Bowen will not be the only worry should the Hammers be relegated to the Championship.

Football Insider understands that Crysencio Summerville is in “huge demand,” having made the left flank his own at the London Stadium, with seven goals and two assists in 33 games.

Taty Castellanos has no desire to play Championship football either, and it would appear that the club are already resigned to losing Mateus Fernandes to one of the Premier League giants.

As expected, the situation is rather dire for the East London side. And with just one game left, staying in England’s top tier appears extremely unlikely. Fans may have to prepare themselves for a number of key exits.
