Tuttosport newspaper reports that Juventus have begun preliminary talks for Giorgio Scalvini, but Atlanta won’t let the Italian centre-back leave for less than €40-45m.

Juventus are interested in Atalanta defender Scalvini as the Bianconeri aim to add young Italian players to their team.

Juventus need a minimum of eight locally trained players in their 25-man List A squad for European competitions, with at least four being club-trained.

The Bianconeri currently sit third in the Serie A table, but are just one point above the fifth spot.

Mattia Perin, Michele Di Gregorio, Federico Gatti, Manuel Locatelli and Andrea Cambiaso are among the locally trained players in their team, while Fabio Miretti and Carlo Pinsoglio have come through the club’s Academy.

Scalvini would be another locally trained player, and the same is true of Inter’s Davide Frattesi, but Atalanta have reportedly made it clear they’ll only consider selling Scalvini for €40m-€45m.

According to the report, Juventus have also set their sights on Brentford defender Michael Kayode, but the ex-Fiorentina defender has claimed that he’s not considering leaving the Premier League club.
