Roma midfielder Manu Koné is in doubt to start tomorrow’s Derby della Capitale against Lazio, as his muscular problems flared up again in training.
It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday at 11.00 UK time (12.00 CEST).
The Giallorossi need a positive result to maintain their push for potential Champions League football, as they are currently joint fourth with Milan in the Serie A table.
However, Sky Sport Italia report that Koné sustained a muscular problem in training today and is a major doubt to feature.
It is another blow for the France international, who was this week named in Didier Deschamps’ squad going to the 2026 World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.
He has made 36 competitive appearances for Roma so far this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
It would’ve been more, but Koné missed 10 matches due to muscular injuries.
If he does miss out, then Niccolò Pisilli could drop into the deeper midfield role.
Bryan Zaragoza and Evan Ferguson already miss out, though Artem Dovbyk and Lorenzo Pellegrini might return to the bench after several months out of action.
Paulo Dybala is tipped to support Donyell Malen, with either Matias Soulé or Pisilli completing the trident attack.
