Orlando Pirate striker Evidence Makgopa has details what they need to do to seal a historic feat at one of the biggest football institutions in Africa, with just two matches remaining and league glory knocking on the door.

The Soweto giants, whose league cravings have stretched beyond 10 years, put themselves in a favourable position after clobbering Magesi FC 3-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Only two matches remains as they remain second on the log behind Mamelodi Sundowns – who have one match left. Three points separate the two on the table, with Bucs enjoying a superior goal difference (+44 as opposed to Sundowns’ +37).

Key to their Betway Premiership charge has been Makgopa, who has registered six league goals and eight across all competitions.

“I feel happy about today’s performance,” noted the erstwhile Baroka FC centre-forward, speaking post-match.

“Something that I also like is that people came out to support us. That’s what we need as we are chasing the league title here. I believe it’s something that a lot of people have wanted for a long time.

“What I want to say is that we should not put our selves under pressure now.

“We have to take it one game at a time. We collect the maximum points in each and every game. So, we move on,” maintained Makgopa.

Up next is Durban City in the last home game of the season at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday, before the potential crowning moment on 23 May away to Orbit College FC.
