Inter President Beppe Marotta sniped at rivals Milan during an event to present the new kit. ‘We are the team of this city, the only one’ with at least 20 Serie A titles.
The Nerazzurri had already won the race to 20 back in the summer of 2024, leaving their neighbours behind on 19, but added a 21st this month along with the Coppa Italia trophy for a Double.
When a club wins 10 editions of the Scudetto, they get to keep a star on their jersey in perpetuity, so only Inter and Juventus have two stars forever on their shirts.
This was referenced by President Marotta when speaking to the fans during an event at the Arena Civica, which was used as their stadium from 1930 to 1947.
“If Inter are up there, it is thanks to all the Presidents who held this role before me, so I’d like to remember the Moratti family, Fraizzoli, Pellegrini, Zhang, all those who over the course of 100 years held the reins of this club,” said Marotta.
“It’s a special evening and we wanted to crown it in this venue, an icon of the city, because we are the team of this city, the only one that has two stars in the city of Milano, and this makes us very proud.”
This was the presentation of the new 2026-27 kit, which will also have the two stars upon it, along with the Scudetto symbol and the target badge representing the Coppa Italia.
