Thursday’s reports indicate that Juventus’s Fabio Miretti is the latest Italian player to be linked with a summer move to Como, who are in need of more homegrown talents ahead of their first ever experience in European competition next season.

Cesc Fabregas’s ambitious Como side have already confirmed that they will be competing in the Europa League at least in 2026-27, and remain in the mix for a Champions League spot heading into the final round of Serie A fixtures this weekend.

Como have often been criticised by supporters in Italy for the total lack of homegrown, Italian talent among Fabregas’s squad. Their most-used Italian player in 2025-26 has been 32-year-old defender Edoardo Goldaniga, who has featured for just 104 minutes across all competitions this term.

This is an issue ahead of Como’s European adventure, as UEFA regulations specify that competing teams must have a minimum quota of club- and association-trained players in their 25-man ‘A’ lists.

That means that Como are left looking at available Italian talents to add to their ranks this summer.

Andrea Cambiaso is among the initial names to be linked with a move to the Stadio Sinigaglia, but reports on Thursday claim that Barcelona are now also among the interested parties. Recent updates claim that Fiorentina’s Fabiano Parisi and Lazio’s Luca Pellegrini are alternative options if Como go for a different Italian profile at full-back.

Reports from Calciomercato.com claim that Juventus’s Miretti is also an option for Como’s midfield.

Miretti has made 22 appearances in Serie A this season, chipping in with a goal and two assists. He also has seven appearances in the Champions League to his name this term.

There are several other names that are already being linked with a potential summer move to Como, including plenty of, but not entirely limited to Italians.

Among them are Bologna’s Nicolo Cambiaghi, Pietro Comuzzo, Alessandro Marcandalli, Andres Cuenca, Cesar Palacios and Andreas Schjelderup.
