Kaizer Chiefs legend Zebulon Nhlapo has stated in no uncertain terms what the remaining challenge for the club's co-coaches, Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, is now that third spot has been secured.

Nhlapo believes that the final two matches provide an opportunity for the coaches to integrate emerging players into the team.

Supporters anticipate that the duo will leverage the talents of young players to rebuild and rejuvenate the team for the upcoming season, highlighting the likes of Mduduzi Shabalala, Mfundo Vilakazi, Wandile Duba, and Asanele Velebayi consistently contribute energy when on the field.

Many fans feel that the team currently lacks a clear identity under the guidance of Kaze and Youssef and believe that incorporating academy players could foster a more dynamic style of play.

"Chiefs should aim to get wins in the final two games using these young players. It was evident how Vilakazi and Velebayi influenced the game against Sekhukhune United, and it is time to give them a proper opportunity,” Nhlapo tells KickOff.

“Also, Luke Baartman gains valuable experience through playing, and they represent the future of Kaizer Chiefs. Chiefs do not lack talented youth; what is needed is a coach who believes in their potential.

“Supporters are willing to give the two coaches another opportunity, provided they can be assured that the young players will be used more regularly.

"From finishing ninth last season to third this season, the coaches deserve another chance. That would be a good decision to build upon the current foundation. These two coaches have a thorough understanding of Kaizer Chiefs and South African football at present.
