With Orlando Pirates favourites to win the 2025/26 Betway Premiership title, Soccer Laduma looks at the records they can still chase and miss out on.

Pirates have been incredible in both ends of the pitch this season, as they have conceded the least number of goals in the league (12) and are on course to score the most, as they have found the back of the net 56 times, compared to Sundowns, who have scored 57 goals and have already concluded their campaign (the Buccaneers still have two games to go).

Ezimnyama, however, missed out on the league record of the least number of goals conceded in a season in the PSL era, even though goalkeeper Sipho Chaine has already set a new record of the most number of clean-sheets (19).

The record of the least number of goals conceded in the PSL era was set by Kaizer Chiefs in the 2003/04 term, where they conceded only 11 goals and equalled by Sundowns in the 2023/24 campaign.

The Brazilians have been coming close to breaking this record, after conceding 13 goals in both the 2022/23 and 2024/25 seasons.

The record for the most goals scored in a league season is held by Sundowns, who scored 65 goals last season.

Pirates need to score ten goals in their last two games against Durban City and Orbit College to break the goal-scoring record, which was set by The Brazilians.

Abdeslam Ouaddou's charges have shown the capability of winning by bigger margins this season, as they thrashed TS Galaxy 6-0 and Golden Arrows 5-0 in two consecutive matches in March.

Relebohile Mofokeng is Pirates' leading goal-scorer in the league with ten goals, two goals behind second-placed in the top-scorers charts, Sundowns striker Iqraam Rayners and three goals behind leading goal-scorer Junior Dion of Golden Arrows.
