Coventry City have announced their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2025–2026 season.
The Sky Blues will return to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years after securing promotion from the Championship with a 1–1 draw against Blackburn Rovers on Matchday 43.
The Championship winners have now confirmed the players who will be moving on and those who will remain at the club.
In a statement on the club's official website, Coventry also confirmed that they have the option to acquire Frank Onyeka’s registration on a permanent basis upon the expiry of his loan agreement, which takes effect from July 1, 2026.
In other words, the Sky Blues can sign the Brentford-owned player permanently once his loan deal expires on June 30.
Onyeka joined Coventry on deadline day in the winter transfer window, with the agreement also including an obligation to buy should the club secure promotion to the Premier League.
The Super Eagles midfielder made 14 appearances, scoring once and providing one assist.
Meanwhile, Joshua Toluwaloju has been informed that his scholarship will not be extended, and he will depart the club on January 15, 2027.
