Players With Hat-Tricks, As Betway Prem Draws To A Close

With the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season reaching its conclusion, Soccer Laduma recaps players who have scored hat-tricks so far this season, after Brayan Leon and Ghampani Lungu all scored three goals in a match that produced 11 goals.

Leon scored his first hat-trick for Sundowns, taking home the match-ball and taking his tally for the season in the league to nine goals in a 7-4 win over Siwelele.

Lungu, on the other hand, helped the Bloemfontein side reduce their blushes with three goals, with an overall tally of only four goals this campaign in the league.

Scoring a hat-trick has been a rare occurrence in the Premiership as it took seven months for another player to get a three-goal haul since Puso Dithejane did so for his former club, TS Galaxy, on matchday three back in August 2025 in a 4-1 victory over Chippa United.

That player was Orlando Pirates forward Relebohile Mofokeng, who scored his first-ever professional hat-trick, ironically, against the Rockets in a 6-0 demolition towards the end of March this year.

Leading goal-scorer Junior Dion of Golden Arrows, with 13 goals, has not achieved this feat yet this season, with Arrows left with two games against Chippa and TS Galaxy to wrap up their campaign.

Sundowns striker Iqraam Rayners, who is also a contender for the golden boot award, with 12 goals, is yet to complete a hat-trick this season and would have been licking his lips on the bench at Lucas Moripe Stadium when his side were running riot against Siwelele, before he replaced Leon midway into the second stanza.

Pirates forward Oswin Appollis, meanwhile, has also not ticked the hat-trick box, with his nine league goals spread across the matches.
