Mothobi Mvala has not played all season at Mamelodi Sundowns due to injury, but the experienced defender looks set to get at least another campaign at Chloorkop.
Indications are that Sundowns are going to keep the former Highlands Park player for at least one more season, with the option in his contract being taken.

The 31-year-old has suffered injury setbacks this season, keeping him out of both the team at Sundowns and the Bafana Bafana squad which went to the Africa Cup of Nations, as well as the one heading to the FIFA World Cup next month.
Mvala is not expected to make an appearance for the club in the remaining matches of the season and this is a big blow, considering that Sundowns' options in central defence are less following the injury to Keanu Cupido.
Khulumani Ndamane is currently struggling for form after making a promising start to the season, while Kegan Johannes has been in and out of the squad. Malibongwe Khoza has struggled to break into the senior team matchday squad in 2026 and has been playing for Sundowns' DStv Diski Challenge squad in recent times.

Mvala is a player who would have added valuable experience in the final few weeks of the season had he been fit to play, but Sundowns supporters will have to wait until next season to see him back on the pitch.
