Andy Robertson and Mo Salah replacements will be at the top of Liverpool‘s list of transfer priorities heading into the summer transfer window.

Both players are set to leave Anfield at the end of this season as Liverpool edge closer to entering a new era of stars under Arne Slot.

Salah has been closely linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, while Tottenham reportedly remain the frontrunners to sign Robertson on a free transfer.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Liverpool’s top targets will be a new right-winger and a new left-back to replace the duo this summer.

Liverpool’s transfer plans are also set to focus on identifying a new defensive midfield addition, while a striker may be signed to help offset the loss of Hugo Ekitike to injury.

Breaking news on deals in progress, latest signings, departures, and contract news from the Anfield boardroom.

Salah is facing a race against time to be fit for Liverpool’s final home game of the season against Brentford on 24 May, while Robertson is pushing to start ahead of Milos Kerkez.

RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande has been touted as a potential replacement for the Egypt star, with Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso linked with a move to Merseyside to compete with Kerkez next season.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “The main focus for Liverpool in the transfer window will be a replacement for Mohamed Salah, a left back to replace Andy Robertson and then a number six.

“A defensive midfielder is probably one of the top priorities, and if there’s any more money left in the kitty after that and the right player is potentially available, then they might look at another striker as well to help fill the void with Ekitike’s injury.

“I think those other positions are probably the top priority right now.”

Wharton has shone in both of his appearances against Liverpool this season, with several top clubs chasing his signature ahead of the summer window.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Wharton is at the top of Liverpool’s shortlist for holding midfielders as they also prioritise a signing in the middle of the park.

The Eagles are known to be tough negotiators, however, and want to keep their best players at the club this summer if they qualify for the Europa League.
