Foster came on as a 69th-minute substitute for the Clarets, marking a significant milestone in his career in England’s top flight.
It was his 50th Premier League appearance, all of which have come for Burnley FC across two seasons.
According to Transfermarkt, only seven other South Africans have achieved this feat, with six of them going on to make more than 100 appearances in England’s top division.
Foster also joins Benni McCarthy and Shaun Bartlett as only the third South African striker to make 50 or more Premier League appearances, while the list also includes three centre-backs.
Steven Pienaar remains the South African with the most Premier League appearances.

The Everton FC legend played 214 Premier League matches across spells with Everton, Tottenham Hotspur FC and Sunderland AFC.
