Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri has threatened to boycott the upcoming Derby della Capitale against AS Roma, stating he will not attend if the match is scheduled for a Sunday midday kick-off.

Sarri slammed the Serie A scheduling, calling it not football and a series of incredible errors by league organizers.

“The sensation is that Monday I’m coming, Sunday at 12:30 I’m not coming: at that time, they can play themselves,” Sarri told Mediaset.

“The chaos comes from a series of errors made by the League. The Prefect was clear, let’s hope that is the date. If I were the president, I wouldn’t even present the team. We will take a one-point penalty; for us, it changes nothing at this point.”

The Roma Derby is set to be played in a Sunday 12:30 CET slot in mid-May, with rising temperatures anticipated, which Sarri considers unsafe and inappropriate for such a high-stakes match.
