Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Dennis Vukubi has urged Amakhosi to ‘go and get’ the ex-Bafana Bafana tactician.
The Kagiso-born coach is currently a free agent, and has featured heavily in conversations around what coaching direction Chiefs should take after what has been a decent season under Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef.
The duo has been serving as caretaker coaches since the Soweto giants parted ways with Nasreddine Nabi in the early stages of 2025/26, with the club making it clear at the time that the arrangement was only until the end of the season.

"What is happening at Chiefs right now is what I have been saying all along that it's not a matter of a coach, it's hunger. My boys are back, abuyile Amakhosi," says erstwhile striker Dennis Vukubi, speaking to KickOff.
"If you look at the form the likes of Mduduzi Shabalala have been showing us lately, you can tell there is hunger now. You judge a family by the behaviour of its kids. If your children are healthy, then you've got a team. We survive through our offspring.
"I believe the players did talk to each other, reprimand each other. Team talks between footballers are very powerful. You can't continue receiving your salary every month end knowing exactly you are not delivering.

“It's not a secret that Chiefs had no direction, but in three months’ time, everything has changed,” he adds.
Vukubi puts it down to a change in mentality, which he believes is now reaping the rewards.
"Do we still need a coach? Definitely, we do. We need a coach for one reason, to keep the structure going. We need a person who will give guidance. We need a father in the house.
"We need somebody with a football background. We need Pitso Mosimane. They must go get Pitso. "
