As countries continue to unveil their squads for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, no fewer than eleven players of Nigerian descent have been named in their respective national teams.

England manager Thomas Tuchel has included Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke in his 26-man squad for the tournament.

Saka, Eze and Madueke were all previously monitored by the Nigeria Football Federation before committing their international futures to the 1966 world champions through competitive appearances.

The Three Lions have been drawn in Group L, where they will face Ghana, Croatia and Panama.

Switzerland have also confirmed their final squad, with Manchester City alum Manuel Akanji and Leeds United forward Noah Okafor selected by head coach Murat Yakin.

The Red Crosses will compete against co-hosts Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar in Group B.

Germany have named Felix Nmecha and former Chelsea academy player Jamal Musiala in their World Cup squad.

Musiala featured in all of Germany's group stage matches at the previous edition of the tournament.

The four-time world champions have been placed in Group E alongside Ivory Coast, Ecuador and tournament debutants Curaçao.

As expected, Bundesliga Player of the Season Michael Olise has been included in France’s squad for the Mundial.

Les Bleus are scheduled to face Senegal, Iraq and Norway in Group I.

Austria will head to the tournament with Real Madrid defender David Alaba and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka among their selected players.

Under the guidance of Ralf Rangnick, Austria will battle defending champions Argentina, Algeria and Jordan in Group J.

Meanwhile, Antonio Nusa is set for a potential first World Cup appearance after being named in Norway’s final squad by manager Ståle Solbakken.

Norway will compete in Group I, where they are due to take on France, Senegal and Iraq.
