Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz has revealed that aspecial local observation programme has already helped him assess some of the countrys best home-based players in a shorter period than expected ahead of the 2026 World Cup.In recent times, players from the Ghanaian topflight have struggled to become a mainstay in the senior national team,Speaking in an interview on the Beyond The Whistle podcast, the Portuguese gafferrevealed that in recent days he has intensified efforts to understand Ghanas domestic football structure and local talent, with support from the Ghana Football Association (GFA).I went deeper to know some of the local players, he noted.We put this programme in place so I could see the best players and understand local football much faster," Queiroz added.The four-time African champions under the Portuguese trainer will make their fifth appearance at the Mundial this summer in the USA, Canada and Mexico.The Black Stars will come up against Panama, England and Croatia in Group L.Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 before taking on England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.Ahead of the tournament, Queirozs side will play friendly matches against Mexico later this month and Wales on June 2.
