Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Djed Spence are both on Everton's radar as they aim to sign a new right-back this summer.
David Moyes has identified right-back as a position that needs improving on if the Toffees are to push for Europe next season.
Jake O'Brien was his main option on the right of the back four throughout last season, with Nathan Patterson and Seamus Coleman as backup options.
Coleman has now left Everton at the end of his contract, while Patterson is widely expected to move on following some tough seasons on Merseyside.
According to a new report from The Times, West Ham man Wan-Bissaka and Spurs' Spence are both on their shortlist for right-back possible signings this summer.
Strasbourg's Guela Doue is also admired, but is expected to command a lofty fee, so the Toffees may well be choosing between the Premier League duo soon.
They both featured in struggling clubs throughout last term, but surely will feel like they have a lot to give as regular starters at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Both players are currently representing their respective nations at the World Cup in North America, with Wan-Bissaka starting DR Congo's draw with Portugal and Spence coming on in England's win over Croatia.
In terms of all-time Premier League statistics, the Hammers defender is way ahead of his London rival, with four goals and 21 assists in 233 games compared to one goal and two assists in 59 appearances.
Wan-Bissaka is three years older than Spence, at 28, but he has five years left on his current contract to the Spurs star's three.
The DR Congo international played thirty more minutes but five less games than Spence last season, while he notched two assists to the 25-year-old's zero.
Wan-Bissaka emerged on top of chances created stats in the Premier League last term, with 18 to 10, but Spence completed more passes, dribbles and long balls per 90 than him.
Spence also made more successful tackles and blocks per 90, while he won possession in the final third more often, too.
Wan-Bissaka's superior stats reflect the game state that West Ham often found themselves in last term, as he made more clearances, headed clearances and interceptions per 90 than Spence.
Everton fans can draw their own conclusions over which player would be a better fit for their side as they are each linked with a Merseyside move this summer.
One clear difference between the pair is the apparent price tag set by their respective clubs.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that West Ham could sell Wan-Bissaka for as little as £10million after their relegation to the Championship.
Tottenham signed Spence for £20m three years ago, and recent reports from Italy have claimed that they want around £35m for him amid interest from Juventus.
