With the current season coming to an end, Kaizer Chiefs are set to make a few calls on some of their players’ futures, especially those who were sent out on loan with the view of them getting regular game-time elsewhere.

An insider close to the club and privy to information has revealed to Soccer Laduma that the recruitment department, headed by Tera Maliwa, is responsible for deciding which players return and which need another season away from the Naturena-based club.

"At the moment the recruitment department is said to be the ones assessing the performances of all players who were out on loan. After looking at all their performances, it's when they are expected to decide on the players’ futures. No one has been told of their future yet," the source told Soccer Laduma.

The insider added that they won't wait for the confirmation of the technical team set-up for next season before the decision is made, although the recruitment department works directly with the technical team and the football department.

"They won't wait for whoever is going to be the head coach before deciding whether to extend their loans, keep them, sell them or even release some of them. Those from the DDC who were loaned out will also be assessed before the next decision is taken by the club," the insider revealed.

Some of the players who were on loan are Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane , who were at Siwelele FC. Bontle Molefe and Nkosana Mbuthu at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Leicesterford City FC, while Casric Stars had Manqoba Ozoemena and Ofentse Kgosana. Another Motsepe Foundation Championship side and league winners, Kruger United, had Vicky Mkhawana and defender Sifiso Timba at Gomora United. Two others were playing in Botswana with Xolani Cossa at Black Lions and Bobo Sima at Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
