Kelechi Iheanacho made another decisive impact from the bench as Celtic defeated Dunfermline 3–1 in the Scottish Cup final to secure a domestic double.
The 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner has now added the Scottish Cup to his list of honours, having previously lifted the FA Cup with Leicester City during the 2020–21 season.
The Super Eagles striker , introduced in the 57th minute in place of James Forrest, added the third goal in the closing stages to put the result beyond doubt.
Iheanacho produced a moment of quality inside the box, gliding past two challenges and rounding goalkeeper Aston Oxborough before calmly finishing to seal victory for the Hoops.
Celtic had taken control of the final in the first half through goals from Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels, establishing a comfortable lead at the break.
Josh Cooper, however, pulled one back for Dunfermline in the final ten minutes, briefly raising hopes of a late comeback.
Iheanacho’s strike continued his growing reputation as an influential substitute this season, having previously scored key late goals against Dundee FC, Hibernian and Motherwell during Celtic’s league-winning run.
The former Leicester City forward ends the campaign with nine goals and one assist in 24 appearances across all competitions, contributing significantly to Celtic’s domestic success.
