Aston Villa will be delighted to learn that Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis is prioritising a transfer to a Champions League club.

The Greece international is one of the hottest prospects in football right now and has his eyes set on a move to an English, German or Spanish team playing in Europe’s biggest competition.

Villa are said to be monitoring Tzolis’ situation ahead of the upcoming transfer window, but it could take more than £31.25million to sign him.

The 24-year-old is content at the Jan Breydel Stadium; he could be tempted by a move to B6 after the Lions won the Europa League.

Unai Emery must be backed by NSWE at Villa Park in the summer after a lack of investment over the last two transfer windows, but it remains to be seen whether they will match the Belgian club’s demands for their attacker.

Breaking news on signings, departures, and contract news from the Aston Villa boardroom.

Speaking to Nieuwsblad on 23 May, Tzolis said, “I feel good here. Staying for another year was the best decision I could have made last season. It would have to be a Champions League team from England, Germany, Spain, or Italy. Only PSG is a better option than Club.”

Emery has no ambitions of slowing down at Villa and expects the hierarchy to put their money where their mouth is.

There had been doubts over the Spanish manager’s future at Villa Park after failing to win any of their opening five league matches, but he has guaranteed a top-five finish in the Premier League.

The former Sevilla boss’ record in the Europa League meant the Villans went into the competition as favourites this season and went on to lift the trophy in Turkiye after beating Freiburg.

Tzolis will surely appreciate Emery’s hunger for success in B6, which may be enough for the Lions to go ahead and complete a deal for him.

Sources have told Football Insider that Bayern Munich are keeping an eye on Morgan Rogers.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see other top teams in England making an approach for the 23-year-old attacker in the coming months.

If Villa are forced to sell Rogers, they should look to bring Tzolis in as a replacement after he scored 21 goals and provided 28 assists in 51 appearances in all competitions for Brugge.

The Lions can use their Europa League win to build a title-winning culture in B6, but NSWE need to be willing to spend money for that to happen.
