Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi said joining the Atlas Lions was “the right decision” as the Lille player began preparations with the national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Speaking during a training camp at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, the 18 year old midfielder said he received a warm welcome from both the coaching staff and teammates after officially committing to Morocco over France.

“The coach and the federation president told me from the start that choosing Morocco was the right decision, and I saw that myself,” Bouaddi said in comments carried by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

The Lille midfielder also praised Morocco’s football infrastructure, describing the Mohammed VI Complex as among “the best in the world,” while highlighting the quality and unity within the national squad.

Bouaddi said his family was particularly proud of his decision to represent Morocco and thanked Moroccan supporters for their reception.
