Italy legend Mario Balotelli was the star of New York City today when he threw out the first pitch for the Mets baseball team against the Cubs at Citi Field.
The striker, who is currently playing for Al-Ittifaq in the UAE, was the guest of honour and given the task of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch in today’s game between the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs.

In his career, Balotelli played for the likes of Inter, Liverpool, Manchester City, Milan, Olympique Marseille and Adana Demirspor.
His most recent Serie A experience with Genoa petered out after a disagreement with coach Patrick Vieira.
SuperMario scored 14 goals in 36 senior caps for Italy, but his most recent appearance for the Azzurri was on September 7, 2018 against Poland in the Nations League.
He turns 36 in August and was accompanied by his brother Enock Barwuah, who also had a brief playing career of his own.
