Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed when discussions regarding his future at Celtic are expected to take place amid growing speculation surrounding his stay in Glasgow.
The Nigerian international joined the Scottish champions as a free agent after mutually terminating his contract with Sevilla.
Iheanacho signed a one-year deal with Celtic, with the club retaining the option to extend the contract by an additional year.
Although the 29-year-old enjoyed a promising start to life at Celtic Park, his campaign was disrupted by recurring hamstring injuries that limited his impact for large parts of the season.
Despite the setbacks, the former Manchester City forward has rediscovered his best form in recent weeks, playing a crucial role in Celtic’s renewed push for the Scottish Premiership title.
His resurgence has intensified discussions over whether the Hoops will activate the extension clause in his contract beyond the current campaign.
Speaking on his future, Iheanacho disclosed that talks between both parties are expected to commence after Celtic’s final match of the season on Saturday.
"I think after 90 minutes on Saturday, then we'll talk about that," Iheanacho revealed via Daily Record.
Iheanacho has proven to be a decisive figure for Celtic this season, particularly from the bench, earning the club eight valuable points through match-winning goals.
He announced himself dramatically on his debut in September, scoring a stoppage-time winner against Kilmarnock with virtually the last kick of the game.
After enduring months on the sidelines through injury, the forward has returned strongly at a critical stage of the season, delivering important goals against Dundee, Hibernian and Motherwell to keep Celtic firmly in the title race.
