Super Eagles-eligible forward Tyrique George is set to leave Chelsea on a permanent transfer this summer as the club prepares for a major squad restructuring ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
The academy graduate joined Chelsea in 2014, rising through the ranks to make his first team debut in a UEFA Conference League fixture against Servette in August 2024.
George made 26 all-competition appearances, contributing three goals and five assists for the Blues during the 2024-2025 season.
His performances raised hopes that he could establish himself as part of Chelsea's long-term plans.
However, the 20-year-old endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 campaign, struggling for regular playing time under Enzo Maresca.
In search of more minutes, the young winger secured a loan move to Everton during the winter transfer window.
The move to Merseyside failed to reignite his progress, with George making 11 league appearances without registering a goal or an assist.
His underwhelming spell at Everton has reportedly convinced the Toffees against activating the purchase option included in his loan agreement before it expires on June 30.
According to Football Insider, Chelsea are also prepared to part ways with the forward permanently, with the club no longer viewing him as part of their future plans.
The West London side are expected to undertake a significant squad overhaul this summer as new manager Xabi Alonso begins the process of rebuilding and restructuring the team following a disappointing campaign.
With his future at Stamford Bridge appearing increasingly uncertain, George is now expected to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere in a bid to revive his career, secure regular first-team football, and continue his development.
Despite representing England at various youth levels, George remains eligible to play for the Super Eagles, having yet to make a senior appearance for the Three Lions.
