Following the confirmation of his exit from Kaizer Chiefs, goalkeeper coach Llyes Mzoughi has a heartfelt message to club supporters.

The Soweto giants announced on Thursday evening that Mzoughi had become the latest to depart the club, following the exit of co-head coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, and the fitness coach.

The forsome were the only remaining members of a group from Nasreddine Nabi’s tenure, which kicked off in 2024.

Following the depature of Kaze, Ben Youssef and Madji Safi, initial indications were that Mzoughi would stay on board, being largely credited with the returns to form of goalkeeper Brandon Petersen.

However, subsequent conversations with the club’s hierarchy are believed to have resulted in a mutual decision not to sign a renewal. Mzoughi was on the same 2 year deal as fellow members of his technical team.

"Today, I say goodbye with a heart full of gratitude and pride," Mzoughi wrote.

"It has been a great honour and privilege to be part of this big club and this beautiful family. Wearing the Kaizer Chiefs badge and working every day for this institution was something very special for me."

"I want to thank the management, technical staff, players, and especially the supporters for the love, respect, and support you gave me during my journey at the club. I will always be grateful for the moments we shared together."

Amakhosi finished third on the Betway Premiership table with 15 wins from 30 matches. The side is understood to have already shortlisted candidates for the post of head coach, who, it seems, will also be allowed to elect their own technical team.

Aside from the coaching staff, a major shake-up is expected at Chiefs in terms of player movements. At least five players are known by this publication to be headed for the exit door, most of whom will see their contracts expire at the end of June.

"To the goalkeepers, thank you for your trust, hard work, and commitment every single day. I am proud of your progress, and I truly believe the future is bright for all of you," he stated.

"Even if my journey with Kaizer Chiefs comes to an end today, this club will always remain in my heart. I leave with beautiful memories, valuable experiences, and great respect for everyone at the club. Thank you, Amakhosi! I wish the club nothing but success, trophies, and happiness in the future."
