Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has shared his thoughts on Amakhosi’s progress this season and return to continental football.

The Soweto giants are putting in the final preparations for their penultimate Betway Premiership match, where they will meet AmaZulu. The match will be played at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday (15:00).

Chiefs will be under no pressure to win the encounter, having already secured a third-place finish on the log table and, in doing so, secured a return to the CAF Confederations Cup.

Ngcobo, who has been key for Amakhosi this season, expressed his excitement over the possibility of continental football.

"It’s a great feeling to know that we are going to play in a CAF competition again next season" said Ngcobo speaking to the club's media.

"It is something we wanted to achieve as a team, and we are happy to have done it with two games to spare," shared the midfielder, addingt that he is excited about the benefits of competing on the continental stage.

"It will be difficult, but we will benefit from the experience."

Chief competed in the CAF Confederations Cup this season, but could not progress past the group stages.

This will undoubtedly be an area of concern for a side that reached the final of the CAF Champions League in 2021.

They will be aiming for a better campaign on the continent in the coming season.

They will also look for improvement in the league, even though their third place finish is an improvement from their ninth-place finish last season.

"I consider this to be a good season, not great because at Kaizer Chiefs the expectations are higher, but after the last few years, I think we turned a corner and are heading in the right direction.

"We will take what we have learned and try to improve for next season," Ngcobo conluded.
