Reports on Wednesday claim that veteran defender Matteo Darmian has not yet decided whether or not he will continue playing in 2026-27 and that he could take on a backroom role with Inter next season despite a long list of potential offers in Serie A.
Darmian, 36, is among the players who will be leaving Inter at the end of their contracts on June 30, along with Francesco Acerbi, 38, and Yann Sommer, 37.
The 46-time Italy international will leave the Nerazzurri after six seasons, 218 competitive appearances and three Serie A, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana titles to his name.
According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Darmian has not yet decided whether or not he will continue playing next season.
Several Serie A clubs, including from Sassuolo, Udinese and newly-promoted pair Monza and Venezia, could make offers for the versatile, veteran full-back according to Wednesday’s update.
However, there is a chance that Darmian decides to call it a day on his playing career during the off-season, and if that is to be the case, Di Marzio reports that he will have an offer of a backroom role with Inter on the table.
Inter reportedly expect Darmian to provide them with a response by the end of next week.
