Dobbo itching for another crack at Cardiff as Stormers seek redemption
Stormers coach John Dobson can't wait for URC quarter-final revenge against Cardiff at Cape Town Stadium. Key players return as home side aims to "put the record straight" after recent defeat.
The Stormers will get a chance at immediate redemption when they host Cardiff in a United Rugby Championship quarter-final clash next weekend.
Just two weeks after suffering a disappointing defeat to the Welsh side in their final league match of the season, John Dobson's men will be desperate to flip the script in front of their home crowd.

The Stormers coach made no secret of his eagerness to get another crack at Cardiff, and he believes the home advantage will be crucial.
"To play in front of our amazing supporters. It's a tough week for us after what happened, but it gives us a massive opportunity to make a statement and put it right. I cannot wait to play them in Cape Town," Dobson said.

The previous encounter took place at Cardiff Arms Park, and Dobson is relishing the change of venue, including the playing surface.
"I cannot wait to play them on grass. I cannot wait to hopefully try and put the record straight. It's not often you get that chance within two weeks to have another go at them," he said.

The quarter-final represents the first step in what the Stormers hope will be a deep playoff run, and Dobson emphasized the win-or-go-home nature of knockout rugby.
"We're starting from fresh. There are three games in a row we have to win. We absolutely have to win this game," the coach stated.
The Stormers received a welcome boost with the return of captain Ruhan Nel, who missed the defeats to both Ulster and Cardiff, and electric winger Seabelo Senatla, who has been sidelined for much of the season. Dobson hinted that other injured players may also be available for selection.

But the coach knows that personnel alone won't guarantee victory. He's focusing his team on the fundamentals that win playoff matches.
"It's not won by magic. It's won by things like defence and work ethic, and attention to detail. That's what we're working on now," Dobson said.
