Sundowns will take a slender 1-0 lead to Morocco after Aubrey Modiba's stunning free-kick split the teams in Pretoria last week.
It was a game that Masandawana fans and players will feel should have been put to bed before the second leg, but the Royal Army will feel positive knowing they trail by a solitary goal.
According to Moroccan outlet Radio Mars, FAR Rabat coach Alexandre Santos granted his players a day off on Monday to allow them extra time to recover, citing physical and mental stress on the players following a difficult first leg.
The team have resumed training with a recovery session on Tuesday at the Maamora Complex before starting matchday preparations.
The team will also be boosted by the return of defender Fallou Mendy, who missed the first leg after just recovering from a thigh strain, with Santos opting not to risk the 26-year-old, according to Sport 7.
The Senegalese international will be joined in the squad by his defensive partner, Marouane Louadni, who also missed the first leg, and their return would be a welcome boost for a Rabat side looking to claim their first Champions League title in 41 years.
