Morocco has been placed in Pot 1 for the draw of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026, scheduled for Thursday at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, the world football governing body announced on Wednesday.
Host nation of the tournament, which will take place from October 17 to November 7, 2026, Morocco joins the five highest-ranked teams in Pot 1: Spain, DPR Korea, Japan, the United States and Canada.
The 24 qualified teams have been divided into four pots based on FIFA rankings compiled from performances across the last five editions of the competition. The tournament will feature six groups of four teams each.
Four African representatives have yet to secure qualification and will provisionally be designated as CAF teams during the draw ceremony.
Morocco will host the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup for the second consecutive year under an agreement granting the Kingdom hosting rights for the competition through 2029.
The draw ceremony will be broadcast live on FIFA+, TikTok and YouTube.
FIFA will also conduct on Thursday the draw for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026, whose final phase is scheduled from November 19 to December 13 in an expanded 48-team format.
Detailed match schedules for both tournaments, including dates, venues and kick-off times, will be released following the draws.
The events will coincide with the launch of FIFA’s World Football Week, organized from May 21 to 25 in partnership with the World Health Organization to encourage physical activity among children.
The pots for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026 are as follows:
Pot 1: Morocco, Spain, DPR Korea, Japan, United States, Canada;
Pot 2: Brazil, Mexico, CAF 1, Germany, France, China PR;
Pot 3: New Zealand, CAF 2, Poland, CAF 3, CAF 4, Chile;
Pot 4: Venezuela, Norway, Samoa, Australia, Puerto Rico, Argentina.
