Kaizer Chiefs right-back Reeve Frosler has admitted that maintaining motivation will be a challenge as the team prepares to face AmaZulu in the upcoming Betway Premiership fixture.

With qualification for next season’s CAF Confederations Cup already secured, Amakhosi have achieved their primary goal of finishing in the Top Three. However, Frosler insists that professionalism will guide them in their remaining league matches.

Speaking to the Chiefs media team on Thursday, Frosler shared his thoughts on the team’s accomplishments and the road ahead:

“It's going to be difficult to stay motivated. I mean, our aim was to get into the top one, two, and three. We managed to successfully do that now, so it is a little bit more challenging. But I think, us staying professional, we've got to go out there and still do the job. The more games we win, the better position for the club, and the better we can start our next phase of things.”

Despite having achieved their primary objective, Frosler expressed the team’s desire to finish the season on a high. He highlighted the importance of winning their remaining two fixtures to match Kaizer Chiefs’ record of 57 points set in 2020, a season where they narrowly lost the league title to Mamelodi Sundowns on the final day.

“It's a good building block for us. I mean, we haven't reached that amount of points in the last five or six years. So, if we could win these next two games, take us to 57, then we're on par with what almost got us the league the last time. We now know what's at stake for next season. If we can get a few points more, we can hopefully be even better, higher up on the log.”

Frosler also emphasised the importance of keeping the team’s morale high, particularly during training sessions, as they prepare for their clash against AmaZulu. He praised the energy within the squad and acknowledged the importance of sticking to their game plan.

“The guys are still having fun at work, which is important. We're having fun and still working towards our next game. The energy has been good, and we’re looking to just continue this energy and go forward to the next game. We just have to continue doing what we need to do, how we’ve practised, and how we’ve prepared the whole week.
