The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has confirmed that Ghana will broadcast the 2026 FIFA World Cup live, following successful government support and fundraising efforts aimed at securing transmission rights for the tournament.
Speaking on Tuesday, May 12, during the presentation of a GH5 million donation from GCB Bank to the Black Stars fundraising campaign, the Buem MP said arrangements have been finalised to ensure matches are shown across selected media platforms in the country.
The GCB Bank donation forms part of a wider national effort to mobilise financial backing for Ghanas World Cup campaign as preparations intensify for the 2026 tournament to be staged in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The government recently launched a fundraising initiative to encourage corporate Ghana and other stakeholders to support the Black Stars ahead of the global showpiece.
Ghana, making their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama in Toronto on June 17, before taking on England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
As part of their build-up, Ghana will play a series of international friendlies, beginning with a clash against Mexico later this month, followed by a final preparatory match against Wales on June 2.
