PSG’s right-back Achraf Hakimi, who suffered a thigh injury during the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Bayern, resumed individual training ahead of the rescheduled Ligue 1 Matchday 29 fixture against RC Lens, the French club announced in a statement.

“Hakimi is training individually on the pitch, while Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes and Warren Zaïre-Emery continue their treatment,” the statement added.

The Parisian club said it hopes to have the Moroccan international back in time for the Champions League final against Arsenal, scheduled for May 30 in Budapest.

The captain of Morocco’s Atlas Lions, who attended the 34th French National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) Awards ceremony on Monday evening, was named to the Ligue 1 Team of the Season, a lineup dominated by PSG (six players).

His teammate Ousmane Dembélé was voted Player of the Year in France’s top flight championship for the second consecutive season, while Désiré Doué won the Best Young Player award, also for the second year in a row.

Hakimi sustained the right thigh injury late in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final which ended in a 5-4 victory against Bayern. The injury forced him to miss the return leg in Munich as well as Sunday’s home match against Brest.
