Hargreaves picks out Man Utd star for mention
Owen Hargreaves says Senne Lammens is the signing of the season for Man United.
Former England star Owen Hargreaves has named a goalkeeper as the player that he believes is Manchester United’s signing of the season.
Senne Lammens helped United avoid defeat against Sunderland last weekend as he made saves to deny goals for Noah Sadiki and Brian Brobbey.
Other signings who have been impressive for the side this season include Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha, but Hargreaves thinks that Lammens could be named the club’s newcomer of the season ahead of them.

“I’ll tell you who’s probably been the best signing of all of them: Senne Lammens,’ Hargreaves told TNT Sports.
“What did he cost? Not a lot, so he’s been value for money.”
The shot-stopper arrived at Old Trafford from Royal Antwerp last September and quickly established himself as the first choice.
While he has only kept seven clean sheets in the Premier League so far this season, he has been convincing between the sticks. His displays in goal are a big reason behind why the Red Devils have secured a return to the Champions League ahead of next term.
“We’ve been growing, and now it’s the next step. Next season is going to be a big one. So everyone is going to step up again,” added Hargreaves.
“Because this season was okay, but it’s not our end goal. So we have to keep building on this and try to get better.”

At just 23, Lammens is still very young as a goalkeeper and will continue to improve. United have struggled to find a reliable first-choice ’keeper since the departure of David de Gea in 2023.
Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir were both tried but could not quite convince that they would be a fit to serve United as a long-term number one.
Meanwhile, Lammens’ strong performances also mean that he is likely to be part of the Belgium squad that will play in the 2026 World Cup in North America next month, as a back-up for number one and Real Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois.
