Harry Wilson could be a good fit for Everton if Jack Grealish doesn’t return to Hill Dickinson Stadium in the upcoming transfer window.
That’s what Paul Merson feels, with the former Arsenal ace predicting that the Fulham forward’s next destination may have already been decided months ago.
Aston Villa have been suggested as a possible destination for the Wales international, but the Toffees should also be in contention to sign him.
Football Insider has learned that Wilson’s move to Villa Park is already under discussion, with preliminary talks opened to secure his services.
David Moyes may be without Grealish for the 2026-27 campaign, and the Merseyside outfit will certainly need to find someone capable of replacing the Manchester City loanee’s influence in L3.

Writing in Sportskeeda on 21 May, Merson said, “Harry Wilson is out of contract this summer. I’d be shocked if he hasn’t signed for someone already! His form has fizzled out in recent weeks, but I bet his next move may have been finalised in January when he was flying. It is probably being kept under wraps.
“I think a club like Aston Villa could use someone like Wilson. He’s a good player and available on a free transfer. I would be shocked if they didn’t go for him. Everton could also be a good fit, especially if Jack Grealish does not sign permanently.”
A few weeks back, the Toffees were favourites to finish in a European position in the Premier League, but those hopes have now all but ended.
It felt like Moyes was building something special at Hill Dickinson Stadium, but the season has petered out for the Blues in underwhelming fashion.
Without European football, it will certainly be tough for the Merseyside outfit to compete with the likes of Villa to sign Wilson.
Unai Emery’s team have also won the Europa League, the Lions’ first trophy in 30 years, and the success at Villa Park will undoubtedly be enticing for the 29-year-old Fulham winger.
Sources have told Football Insider that Everton will pursue a deal for Grealish in the summer as they look to bolster Moyes’ squad.
"I'd say there's a 50/50 chance he could be involved."

The England international has enjoyed his time at the Toffees and publicly expressed his admiration for the Scottish manager.
Moyes has been coy about the prospect of the 30-year-old’s return to Merseyside, with the 63-year-old head coach once again reiterating that finances will dictate what happens.
If the Blues aren’t able to bring Grealish back to Hill Dickinson Stadium, The Friedkin Group will have a gigantic void to fill in the attack soon.
