Arsenal's tri-national goalkeeper Khari Ranson has reflected on a breakthrough season with England youth team, the Young Lions.

Apart from England, Ranson, who grew up in East London, qualifies to represent Nigeria's Super Eagles and Ghana's Black Stars by virtue of being born to a Nigerian father and Ghanaian mother respectively.

After featuring in friendly matches for England's U16 and U18 teams, the shot-stopper became cap-tied to his country of birth after starting a European U19 Championship qualifier against Latvia in November 2025.

Ranson is highly rated by Arsenal's coaching staff, including manager Mikel Arteta who has invited him to train with the first team on several occasions this season.

He was included in the matchday squads for UEFA Champions League fixtures against Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting CP.

Ranson has described this season as the most significant period of his development so far.

Speaking to Arsenal's Young Gun series, Ranson said: "This season has probably given me the most exposure so far. I've been on three international camps with England under-19s and played a good number of minutes against Latvia and Scotland.

"Representing England is always a proud moment, and I feel Arsenal have prepared me perfectly for that level. For the under-21s, I've made four appearances this season. It could have been more, but injuries have been frustrating."

Ranson has trained alongside 2025–26 Premier League Golden Glove winner David Raya and experienced goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
