The injury suffered by exciting Nigerian forward Zadok Yohanna appears more serious than earlier thought.
Ahead of kickoff of the Allsvenskan clash with Västerås SK at the Hitachi Energy Arena in Västerås, AIK informed via their official website that Zadok has not been selected by head coach José Riveiro, together with assistant coaches Nils Heingård, Sergio Almenara and Kyriakos Stamatopoulos,
AIK confirmed that the in-demand attacker has not been called up for the matchday eight fixture due to injury.
Last weekend, the 18-year-old was substituted at the end of the first half against Djurgårdens IF after suffering an injury.
Speaking after the match, Zadok downplayed the severity of the issue, insisting he was withdrawn as a precautionary measure.
However, the right winger failed to recover in time to be included in the matchday squad against Västerås SK.
Zadok has been mentioned in local media as a potential candidate for a maiden Super Eagles call-up for the Unity Cup, although both he and AIK sporting director Miika Takkula have made it clear that the Nigeria Football Federation has not made any contact as of May 4.
The Ikon Allah Football Academy product has two goals and three assist in seven Allsvenskan matches this term.
